Organizing Works for UC-AFT
At 3:37am on November 17th, UC-AFT reached a tentative agreement with the University of California, averting a strike that was to begin that very morning. The agreement took years of negotiating and organizing and makes progress on three core demands: job security, workload, and compensation. According to AFT President Randi Weingarten, this agreement will be “transformative” not just for workers in the UC system, but nationwide.
